FAQ

How does the School work?

First, there is a bit of ‘insider’ language we should explain before describing how the School works:

Tracks

This is our language for the 6-month modules of learning and coaching that make up the Schools. One Track consists of BOTH the 5-day Intensive PLUS the 6-months of online Huddles that follows.

Intensives

These are the 5-day, onsite experiences hosted by our team that kick-off each Track. During Intensives, we not only get the opportunity to dive into a LOT of content – we also share meals, have fun, and spend time together – all in the context of our local community! Intensives are one of the most memorable parts of the 10KFAM experience and (we believe) one of the things that set us apart from other Schools because we’re inviting you into our real lives.

Huddles

After the 5-day Intensives are finished, the remainder of 6-months of weekly coaching happens online in Huddles. This is a weekly online 75-minute Zoom video call that is led by your Coach where you process how the content intersects your life and leadership alongside 5-7 students from your Track. Most huddles are during working hours of 9-5 ET, with the exact time based on the availability of the students and their Coach. Huddle is where much of the real transformation happens. It’s required for all students and it’s a very important part of the whole process.

Do I have to live in Colorado, or move there, for the “onsite” School?

Nope! The “onsite” language simply refers to the 5-day Intensive that kicks off each 6-month Track.

Is this for me?

If you’re looking for a safe place to grow alongside other leaders who are asking the same questions you are, then absolutely. If you’re wanting to learn how to make disciples, raise up leaders, and better serve your congregation in worship, then absolutely. If you’re looking to grow in your character, competency, and calling—then most certainly.

If you’re looking to get a selfie with your favorite celebrity worship leader, this isn’t for you.

How many people are in each class?

Classes range in size, but never more than 25 people. Your coaching huddle will be no more than 4-8 people. We intentionally keep classes small so that each student gets as much time as possible with our team.

How much does the School cost?

Each Onsite Track costs $3,000.

We also offer a completely Online Experience of Worship School, which is $2,000/Track. More details>>>

What does the tuition cover?

Colorado Onsite

Tuition for each Track covers food, lodging, local transportation during the Intensive week, plus 6 months of weekly online coaching from our team. Students are also responsible for purchasing the few books required for each Track (information to purchase via Amazon is sent to students prior to each Track).

Where will I be staying while I’m there?

We value community too much to put you in a cheap hotel. Each Intensive is hosted in a beautiful facility that specializes in events like this. You’ll be well taken care of – hospitality is a big part of our DNA. Most of our sessions will be conducted in our homes or at the event facility.

I can’t make it to any of the Intensives, can I still participate in the School?

We have officially launched our Online Experience for Worship School, which captures all of the same teaching as our onsite schools, and is coupled with the same 18 months of online weekly coaching. There are plenty of places you can go online to find information about worship leading.

We are not that.

This is not about information—this is about transformation and discipleship. Please be careful not to confuse the two. The cost is greater, the demand is deeper, and the rewards are infinitely richer.

I have unique dietary requirements, will there be food options for me?

We do our best to provide a variety of options, including gluten free. However, depending on your particular needs, it may be helpful to bring supplemental snacks.

Do you offer scholarships?

We have a limited amount of scholarship available for each class where we match what you are able to raise for tuition.

Can I give a donation to support this ministry?

Yes! We are non-profit ministry 501(c)3. We very much depend on support; from operations to scholarships, we only survive by the sacrificial generosity of our leadership team and others. All gifts are tax-deductible.

The intensives sound great, but I’m not sure I can do 6 months of weekly coaching.

We really believe strongly in the coaching huddle process. This is where true transformation happens. We know it is a big commitment, but it produces big results. Unfortunately, if you can not commit to the huddle process, we can not discount your tuition nor accept you into Tracks 2 or 3.

I don’t play an instrument. Can I still participate in the School?

Yes. Several of the best worship leaders & songwriters that have come through our school don’t have proficiency on an instrument. It’s not a deal breaker, but we’ll connect you with people who can come alongside you, developing your competency in this area.

Is there an age restriction?

Yes; we don’t accept students younger than 20 years old. We have lots of students in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, and have even had several in their 50’s and 60’s! We love what each generation brings to the other, and we eagerly welcome the more seasoned leaders who are still pressing in and contending for what God has next in their lives. The requisite self-awareness and general maturity we need in order to move throughout this process precludes us from accepting students younger than 20 though.

I’m not a full time worship leader. Can I still come?

Yes; often we have a good handful of students who are full-time employees in their churches, and another handful who are either part-time, volunteers, or even just getting started.

What’s the workload like?

Assignments vary from week to week, but we’d suggest budgeting an average of 2-3 hours a week for most coursework throughout the journey.
